The Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute is planning to train licensed cryptocurrency traders.
According to BlockBeats news on July 10th, the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSII) is planning to train licensed cryptocurrency traders. HKSII Chairman Colin Shaftesley revealed that the institute will hold a series of training programs and seminars on virtual assets in the coming months. Two webinars, "How digital assets coexist in traditional financial IT architecture" and "Digital assets for portfolio management," have already been scheduled on the HKSII calendar.
On June 1st, the new licensing system for Hong Kong's virtual asset trading platforms (VATP) came into effect. On the same day, HKSII posted on its website that it is closely collaborating with the Examination Committee and Education and Development Committee.
In addition, HKSII has established a virtual asset working group to help develop corresponding CPT plans and exams to support market practitioners under the new licensing system. Detailed information about upcoming exams and training programs will be announced soon. Many applicants for HKSII's new projects are interested in becoming cryptocurrency traders.
Note: Hong Kong financial industry employees must pass the "Securities and Futures Practitioners Qualification Examination" (which has 14 exams) from the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute before engaging in regulated activities and licensed businesses under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
