Foreign media: Korean prosecutors launch comprehensive investigation into WeMade and WEMIX Token market makers.
According to BlockBeats news on June 30th, Digital Asset reported that this morning, the Korean prosecutor's office has launched a comprehensive forced investigation, including detention and search, into the country's listed gaming company, WeMade, and its WEMIX Token market maker. This search and detention is aimed at the complaint filed by WEMIX investors to the prosecutor's office on May 12th, accusing the company of fraud and embezzlement.
Since 2021, WeMade has caused multiple controversies, including liquidating WEMIX worth KRW 225.5 billion without notifying WEMIX users from November 2020 to January 2022, and using the funds to acquire a company, which caused a huge controversy. In addition, at the end of 2022, the issuance of WEMIX was suspected of false disclosure and was involved in a legal dispute with the country's trading platform, and WEMIX was eventually delisted from several major Korean cryptocurrency exchanges.
