Bitpanda Pro has been split into a new entity called One Trading and has completed a Series A funding round of 30 million euros.
According to BlockBeats news on June 28th, Bitpanda Pro, the subsidiary of the Austrian cryptocurrency trading platform Bitpanda, aimed at institutions and professional traders, has been spun off into an independent company named One Trading. It has also completed a €30 million Series A funding round led by Peter Thiel's Valar Ventures, with participation from MiddleGame Ventures, Speedinvest, Keyrock and Wintermute Ventures. Bitpanda will also retain a partial stake in the company.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Vienna, Bitpanda primarily focused on retail business before launching its Pro product in 2019. One Trading plans to operate as a MiFID trading venue and also holds a VASP license, which will enable it to provide "capital-efficient spot and derivative products" to a wide range of customers.
