The National Tax Agency of Japan announced a partial revision of the tax rules for virtual currency companies.
According to BlockBeats news on June 25th, the Japanese National Tax Agency issued a notice regarding the legal interpretation of partially amended corporate tax rules, which states that cryptocurrencies issued by companies themselves can be excluded from market valuation under certain conditions. This revision has also been included in the "Ruling Party Tax Reform Charter" for the Reiwa 5 fiscal year, and the notice from the National Tax Agency has made this revision officially decided.
Under previous legal regulations, if a company held virtual currencies, their unrealized gains would be subject to taxation at the end of the period. This provision has long been criticized for "burdening companies and hindering innovation in virtual currencies and blockchain," and as a result of this law, some companies have chosen to conduct business overseas.
