Bloomberg: Market makers Jane Street and Jump are exiting their digital asset trading businesses in the United States.
According to a report from Bloomberg citing anonymous sources on May 10th, as US regulators increase their crackdown on the cryptocurrency industry, Jane Street and Jump, two high-frequency trading firms on Wall Street, are exiting their digital asset trading businesses in the United States.
Sources revealed that Jane Street is further reducing its global cryptocurrency ambitions, as regulatory uncertainty makes it difficult for the company to operate in a manner that meets its internal standards.
Two sources said that Jump Trading's digital asset division, Jump Crypto, is also exiting the US market for the same reasons, although it is expanding internationally. The sources said that both firms have not completely abandoned cryptocurrencies.
