The Base Goerli testnet will undergo a Regolith hard fork upgrade on April 28th, which will enhance security.
BlockBeats reported on April 25th that Coinbase's L2 network Base announced on social media that the Base Goerli testnet will undergo a Regolith hard fork upgrade on April 28th at 01:00 Beijing time. This is the first hard fork for the testnet. Nodes will need to upgrade to version Base node v0.1.1 to stay in sync, and the upgrade will not affect users who are not running nodes.
The purpose of this upgrade is to make Base more secure and reliable. The upgrade follows the Optimism Regolith hard fork upgrade on March 17th and is activated by timestamp-based configuration changes to the OP Stack rollup nodes and execution engine.
