Intel will discontinue production of its first-generation Blockscale 1000 series Bitcoin mining chips.

BlockBeats reported on April 19th that Intel has announced the discontinuation of its first-generation Blockscale 1000 series Bitcoin mining chips and has not announced the next generation of Bitcoin mining products. Intel stated, "Due to our priority investment in IDM 2.0, we have ended the lifecycle of Intel's Blockscale 1000 series ASIC, while continuing to support our Blockscale customers." When asked if they plan to completely exit the Bitcoin ASIC business, Intel responded, "We will continue to monitor market opportunities."
