Asset management giant Apollo plans to offer retail crypto transactions on Yahoo Finance

BlockBeats: On December 3, decrypt, citing sources, reported that Apollo is planning to add cryptocurrency trading to Yahoo Finance. Apollo Global Management completed its acquisition of Yahoo last year by the Apollo Fund, a fund managed by one of its affiliates. After the deal, Yahoo will operate as a separate company under the Apollo Funds. Soon after the Yahoo acquisition, Apollo approached Mike Novogratz's Galaxy Digital to discuss the possibility of partnering to offer cryptocurrency trading on Yahoo Finance, the sources said, adding that it is unclear what other crypto trading firms Apollo has approached as crypto partners. Apollo wants a crypto trading platform with enough liquidity to handle the volume coming from Yahoo (such as Binance, Coinbase, or Kraken), as well as a compliance firm to handle KYC/AML policies. In October, Apollo partnered with Anchorage Digital to offer institutional cryptocurrency custody services, making Anchorage one of the possible candidates.
