Avalanche Indicates the Banff upgrade. Avalanche subnet authenticator can use subnet Token to pledge

According to BlockBeats, on October 19th, Avalanche announced that its main network has successfully activated the Banff upgrade, which enables Avalanche subnet validators to use subnet tokens to pledge and receive rewards. It also enables the subnet creator to remove the verifier from the subnet before the pledge period ends. This change does not apply to all subnets immediately, and in order for a subnet to work in this way, the subnet creator must change it to an elastic subnet. In addition, the Banff upgrade is a hard fork, and the verifier will need to upgrade to the latest version or face being marked offline and seeing the reward reduced. "Elastic subnets are Avalanche's biggest feature since the network launched in 2020," said Patrick O'Grady, Director of Engineering at Ava Labs. "When converting its subnets to elastic subnets, the creators open up the pledge to anyone who has their subnet Token, But verifiers will still need to pledge AVAX tokens, which are required for the upcoming native cross-subnet messaging feature."
