The head of crypto anti-money laundering compliance at the FCA in the UK has resigned
According to BlockBeats, on October 18, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) announced that Mark Steward is stepping down as executive director of Enforcement and market oversight. As previously reported, in January 2021, the FCA became the regulator for anti-money laundering compliance for crypto companies in the UK. "While we do not regulate or supervise cryptocurrency businesses, these companies must register with the FCA and they must comply with money laundering regulations," Steward had said in a speech in March 2021. The FCA did not reveal who will replace Mark Steward in its announcement.
