zkSync parent to launch Tier 3 'Pathfinder' in Q1

zkSync parent Matter Labs will launch a public beta network for an extended prototype of Ethereum called Pathfinder in Q1 2023, which will be the first Layer 3 network launched on Ethereum. Scalability can be significantly improved. zkSync, a Layer 2 network on Ethereum, will launch this month. Layer 2 networks are those that run on top of Ethereum's main blockchain, improving scalability and enabling it to process more transactions at a lower cost. Once in place, the company hopes to launch its testing environment for a Layer 3 network called Pathfinder -- designed to provide even more benefits to Ethereum.
