Circle will launch the USDC cross-chain transport protocol, which will launch Ethereum and Avalanche this year

USDC publisher Circle has announced the launch of a new cross-chain transport protocol to support USDC interoperability for developers and users. The protocol is permissionless and enables USdcs to be sent across chains to improve liquidity and reduce fragmentation of bridging assets. Developers building wallets, cross-chain Bridges, payment apps, financial services tools, and more will be able to offer simple cross-chain USDC transactions. In addition, the protocol is composable, allowing developers to overlay transactions, payments, NFTS, games, and more. The protocol is scheduled to go live on the Ethereum and Avalanche mainnets later this year, with LayerZero Labs, Wormhole, BitGo, and Avalanche being the first to integrate into the platforms.
