Paradigm: Base level participants should not be required to vet sanctioned addresses. This would be contrary to U.S. national interests

According to BlockBeats, on September 9, crypto venture capital Paradigm published an article on its website discussing the impact of sanctions and censorship on blockchain infrastructure. OFAC should not require any blockchain base layer participant to review sanctioned addresses, the article said. In addition, requiring sanctions compliance obligations at the base level would have counterproductive national security implications and would be contrary to U.S. national interests by pushing important technologies to seek development away from U.S. shores.
