Britain's newly elected Prime Minister Liz Truss has publicly supported cryptocurrencies
UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss was elected leader of the ruling Conservative Party on September 5 and will take over as prime minister, suggesting the country could soon have a crypto-friendly prime minister, BlockBeats reported.
According to a January 2018 tweet from Liz Truss, she has publicly supported cryptocurrencies and called for regulations that restrict their growth to be shelved. "We should welcome cryptocurrencies in a way that doesn't limit their potential, freeing up free enterprise zones by removing regulations that limit prosperity," she wrote. But since then, Mr. Truss has not spoken out in favor of cryptocurrencies or friendly regulations.
